Turning My Childhood Dream into a Career Journey 💎✨
Ever wonder how childhood dreams can shape our careers in unexpected ways? ðŸ’
When I was 10, I boldly declared, "I wanna be a diamond trader!" The inevitable follow-up question—"Why?"—unleashed this gem from my sassy, smart-ass younger self:
"Because I want to drive a Lamborghini. A Lamborghini has a very small trunk, and I need something worth a lot of money that can fit into small spaces..." 💎🚗
Fast forward 20+ years, and while I didn’t end up trading diamonds—or cruising in a Lambo—I did turn that childhood fantasy into a reality with a twist. From 2013 to 2019, I spent 6 incredible years as a Luxury Brand Marketing Manager for another Italian luxury company at BVLGARI in Miami, overseeing the Latin American markets for one of Italy’s most iconic luxury watch and jewelry brands. ⌚🌎
Working with exquisite, high-value pieces felt like the grown-up version of my diamond-trading dream. Small in size, immense in worth—both in craftsmanship and the emotions they inspire. It wasn’t about the car (though I still admire Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.), but about connecting with luxury in a way that echoed my childhood imagination.
It’s funny how our younger selves can nudge us toward our passions, even if the path looks different than we pictured. What about you? What did you want to be when you grew up? Did it shape your career in some unexpected way? Drop your story below—I’d love to hear it! 👇
